HPLC Column, RP C8 Octyl, Wide Pore, 5um, 2.1mm ID x 100mm Length, 300A. Cogent Brand. 1 EA.

Additional Information:

Cogent RP C8™ Wide Pore HPLC Columns are designed for reversed-phase separations of larger molecules that require enhanced pore accessibility and efficient mass transfer. The stationary phase consists of a traditional octyl (C8) bonded ligand attached to ultra-high purity silica and is fully double end capped to minimize secondary interactions while providing excellent peak shape, reproducible retention, and long column life. The 300 Å wide pore structure allows proteins, peptides, and other larger analytes to access more of the bonded surface area, making this phase particularly useful for biomolecule separations and high molecular weight compounds.

68508-10P-2-3M is packed with 5 µm RP C8™ Wide Pore particles featuring a 300 Å pore size in a 2.1 mm ID x 100 mm length format. The 100 mm column length provides increased resolving power compared to shorter 50 mm columns while maintaining efficient analysis times. The wide pore architecture improves accessibility and mass transfer for proteins, peptides, and other large hydrophobic compounds that may experience restricted pore access in conventional 100 Å media. The RP C8™ chemistry offers lower hydrophobic retention than comparable C18 phases while maintaining excellent selectivity for hydrophobic and moderately non-polar analytes.

This column is frequently selected for LC-MS applications when greater chromatographic resolution is required for larger biomolecules. The 2.1 mm ID format reduces solvent consumption and is highly compatible with mass spectrometric detection. Optimum performance is typically achieved at approximately 0.2-0.3 mL/min. Standard HPLC systems used with this column must be capable of delivering accurate and reproducible low flow rates, and low-volume detector flow cells are recommended to minimize extra-column dispersion and maximize efficiency.
